“Man in Custody After Alleged Assault Near Police Station”

An individual has been apprehended following an alleged sexual assault on a woman in a passageway across from a police station.

The purported incident occurred in an alley between Chatsworth Road and the Guildbourne Centre in Worthing, West Sussex, during the early hours of Saturday.

Law enforcement officials have conducted inquiries in the vicinity to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault, suspected to have happened between 3am and 4am.

Subsequently, a 42-year-old man has been taken into custody by the police in connection with the incident and is presently detained.

Detective Inspector Gary Jacobs, overseeing the investigation, affirmed that Sussex Police is providing support to the alleged victim. He urged individuals with any relevant information to come forward.

“We are assisting the victim and will maintain a presence in the area as our investigation progresses,” stated Detective Inspector Jacobs. The public’s cooperation in the house-to-house investigations has been acknowledged.
