“Allegations of Racism and Antisemitism Haunt Nigel Farage”

Nigel Farage is under scrutiny following allegations of racist and antisemitic remarks made by former classmates from his time at Dulwich College in south London. The accusations include claims of endorsing Hitler, making gas chamber jokes, and discriminating against someone based on skin color.

Peter Ettedgui, a Bafta- and Emmy-winning director and producer, recounted that Farage would make disturbing comments like “Hitler was right” and mimic gas chamber sounds. However, a spokesperson for Reform UK, Farage’s party, refuted these claims as an attempt to tarnish his reputation.

Ettedgui, whose grandparents fled Nazi Germany, expressed shock at the verbal abuse he witnessed from Farage, including derogatory remarks towards other students. Other former classmates also recalled Farage leading songs with disturbing themes during their time together.

The allegations have sparked demands for explanations from political figures like Anna Turley MP and Lib Dem MP Josh Babarinde. Additionally, Hope not Hate’s Georgina Laming highlighted Farage’s history of intolerant views, while NHS doctor Andy Field recounted an incident where Farage allegedly punished a student based on skin color.

While there is no concrete evidence supporting the allegations, the controversy has raised concerns about Farage’s past conduct and its implications on his political career. The ongoing debate underscores the importance of addressing such serious accusations and ensuring accountability in public figures.
