Turkish Military Cargo Plane Crash Kills 20 Soldiers

Twenty soldiers aboard a Turkish military cargo plane perished following a crash in Georgia near the Azerbaijan border. Turkey’s defense ministry confirmed the fatalities as investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the incident.

The C-130 aircraft had departed from Azerbaijan en route back to Turkey when it tragically went down in Georgia. Video footage broadcasted by Turkish news channels depicted the plane spiraling down with a trail of white smoke.

These military cargo planes are regularly utilized by the Turkish armed forces for troop transportation. The Republic of Türkiye Ministry of National Defence announced the crash and initiated search and rescue efforts in collaboration with Azerbaijani and Georgian authorities.

Georgian officials arrived at the crash site around 5 pm local time, with Turkey’s Interior Minister mentioning the continuous search and rescue mission.
