“Teenager Saved from Drowning in Spain, Siblings Tragically Lost”

A 14-year-old British teenager is currently in critical condition at a hospital in Girona, Spain, after nearly drowning at a holiday resort in Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava. The girl was caught in a wave and swept out to sea while swimming with friends. Quick action by two police officers who rescued her from the water saved her life.

Following the incident, emergency services arrived promptly, and the teenager received CPR on the shoreline before being taken to the hospital. Firefighters also assisted in the rescue. Witnesses praised the coordinated efforts of the local police, fire brigade, and emergency responders in saving the girl’s life.

In a tragic previous incident, two British siblings, aged 11 and 13, lost their lives after drowning while swimming off the Spanish coast in Salou. Despite efforts to save them, both children were in cardiac arrest when emergency services arrived. Authorities confirmed the father of the siblings was rescued alive.

Psychological support was extended to the grieving family, with lifeguards off-duty at the time of the tragic event. The British family affected by the incident was reportedly staying at a nearby hotel. The police are treating the drowning of the siblings as a non-criminal matter.
