Greene King is offering complimentary pints of Guinness this weekend to coincide with the start of the Six Nations rugby tournament.
To receive your free pint, simply make a reservation for any Six Nations match on February 7 through the Greene King website. Upon arrival at the pub, show your booking confirmation to claim your drink.
This promotion is valid at all Greene King sports pubs, including Flaming Grill, Hungry Horse, and Belhaven, as part of the Fans Reunited campaign. Rugby legends Martin Johnson and Jason Robinson are the faces of this initiative.
Zoe Bowley, the Managing Director of Greene King pubs, expressed, “Fans Reunited highlights the significant role of sports and the pub environment in uniting people. By launching during the Guinness Six Nations and gifting fans a free pint, we aim to inspire moments where old acquaintances reconnect over a drink.”
Former England rugby captain Martin Johnson mentioned, “Rugby has a special way of fostering connections among people. The enduring friendships formed through sports are celebrated by Greene King’s Fans Reunited campaign.”
Additionally, the government recently announced a 15% reduction in business rates for pubs and music venues starting in April, following pressure due to changes made in the budget last year and the conclusion of pandemic support.
Treasury minister Dan Tomlinson stated that the average pub could save £1,650 next year, benefiting from the lowered business rates. This support will not extend to other hospitality businesses like hotels, restaurants, and cafes.
Emma McClarkin, chief executive of the British Beer & Pub Association, applauded the government’s decision, emphasizing the importance of this pub-specific relief package in alleviating financial pressures and sustaining local businesses.
