Conor McGregor Endorses UFC’s White House Event

Conor McGregor has expressed approval for the UFC’s upcoming White House event, even though he is not slated to compete in it. Initially rumored to headline a fight on President Donald Trump’s front lawn against Michael Chandler on June 14, McGregor is now expected to make his return to the octagon the following month. UFC CEO Dana White unveiled the White House card, featuring Ilia Topuria defending his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje in the main fight.

Alex Pereira is set to challenge Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight belt in the co-main event. Despite not being part of the lineup, McGregor shared his enthusiasm for the event by posting a photo of the fight card on social media, commenting that he “loves it” and later describing it as “a great card.”

In a previous statement, the former two-weight world champion revealed that he was eagerly awaiting details about his next fight. McGregor expressed interest in facing Chandler at the White House, highlighting Chandler’s skills in the cage and emphasizing his own readiness for the matchup. However, plans were altered, and McGregor hinted at a potential return during International Fight Week.

McGregor also disclosed his intention to return to the welterweight division, emphasizing his increased size and readiness for any opponent offered to him. Despite ongoing negotiations and discussions with his manager, McGregor remains hopeful for a compelling offer for his comeback fight.
