“Missing Pilot’s Plane Found in Kawartha Lakes”

Search and rescue authorities have located an aircraft in the Kawartha Lakes area, where a pilot was reported missing after flying in the region last week. The Trenton Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), responsible for coordinating air and marine search and rescue missions across Ontario, announced the discovery of the plane on Wolf Lake in Queen Elizabeth II Provincial Park, situated approximately a 45-minute drive north of the Kawartha Lakes municipality.

The incident has now been handed over to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) as a missing person’s case, as stated by JRCC in their social media post. Although not explicitly stated, it is implied that the plane may belong to the missing 73-year-old pilot known as David.

According to the Durham police, David departed from Oshawa Airport in the aircraft at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and was scheduled to return by 9:30 a.m. It was mentioned that he typically flies in the region south of Kawartha Lakes township and north of Lake Scugog.

The Ontario Provincial Police had previously described the missing aircraft as a small blue homemade plane with the tail marked “FOFZ.” David, an experienced pilot, is characterized by authorities as being five feet seven inches tall with a slim physique, black grey hair, and a moustache.
