Teenage Boy Set on Fire in Australia; Family Reveals Severity

The family of a teenage boy who was reportedly soaked in petrol and set on fire has disclosed the severe nature of his wounds.

On Monday, October 13, at approximately 6 pm local time, Jacob Thompson, aged 19, was strolling along Cowper Street, Coonabarabran, Australia, when he was approached by one man and two women. According to police reports, a member of the group allegedly poured a substance on Jacob before igniting him. Bystanders managed to put out the flames and provide initial aid to Jacob before he was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Jacob’s family has disclosed that he suffered burns on 32 percent of his body, sustaining severe third-degree burns to his face, chest, arms, back, and legs. Due to the gravity of his injuries and the impact on his air passages, Jacob was airlifted to Sydney and placed in a medically induced coma on life support, as stated by the family.
