A Colombian porn actor, Yostin Andres Mosquera, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 42 years for the murder of a couple in London. The judge, at Woolwich Crown Court, emphasized that Mosquera might never be safe to be released due to the heinous nature of his crimes.
Mosquera was found guilty of killing 62-year-old Albert Alfonso by slitting his throat during a sex game, and also beating Alfonso’s civil partner, 71-year-old Paul Longworth, to death with a hammer. Mosquera then decapitated and dismembered the victims, storing their heads in a freezer and transporting the remaining body parts in suitcases to Bristol.
During the trial, it was revealed that Mosquera had planned the murders to rob the victims and attempted to dispose of the body parts over Clifton Suspension Bridge. However, his plan was foiled when bridge staff noticed a leak from one of the suitcases. Mosquera was arrested at Bristol Temple Meads railway station.
The court heard that Mosquera had a transactional relationship with Alfonso, who paid him for sexual services. Mosquera had researched how to kill and dispose of bodies, as well as how to access the victims’ financial accounts. He had a history of accessing child pornography and had thousands of unlawful images on his laptop.
The judge described Mosquera’s actions as pre-meditated and thoroughly wicked, sentencing him to life imprisonment for both murders and additional time for the child porn charges. Mosquera’s lack of remorse and disturbing behavior were highlighted throughout the trial, painting a grim picture of his character.
Outside the court, law enforcement officials expressed the harrowing nature of the case and the impact on the victims’ loved ones. They emphasized the brutality of Mosquera’s crimes and the meticulous planning that went into the murders. The sentencing was seen as a form of justice for the innocent victims and a step towards ensuring public safety from such a dangerous offender.
