“85-Year-Old Golfer Stuns with Even-Par 72”

David McDonald, an 85-year-old golfer from Fall River, N.S., achieved a remarkable feat by shooting an even-par 72 at the challenging Ashburn Golf Club’s new course. The course, known for its length and fast greens, presented a tough test for McDonald, who typically plays from the silver tees measuring nearly 5,800 yards.

McDonald, who golfs three to four times a week and mostly walks the course, considers shooting his age in golf a significant accomplishment. Beating it by 13 strokes was especially memorable for him.

A friend, Peter Stirling, commended McDonald’s impressive performance, highlighting his dedication to fitness and regular golfing routine. Despite some past health issues, McDonald remains active and committed to the game.
