“UK Airline Eastern Airways Ceases Operations”

Eastern Airways, a UK domestic airline, has ceased operations and canceled all its flights, as confirmed by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The regional carrier, which served six UK airports, is currently not operating any flights. Destinations previously served by Eastern Airways included Aberdeen, Humberside, London Gatwick, Newquay, Teesside International, and Wick. The decision to halt operations came after the company, headquartered in Kirmington, filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator at the Insolvency and Companies Court on Monday morning.

Customers scheduled to fly with Eastern Airways are advised not to proceed to the airport, and all flights have been canceled. The CAA recommends affected passengers to refer to their website for the latest updates. Alternative travel arrangements can be made through other airlines, trains, or coaches.

To assist impacted travelers, London North Eastern Railway, ScotRail, TransPennine Express, and Northern are offering free standard-class travel to Eastern Airways staff and customers on October 28 and 29 on suitable routes operated by each train company. Passengers must present valid identification such as an Eastern Airways employee ID, boarding pass, or flight confirmation to access this offer.

Established in 1997, Eastern Airways previously operated charter flights for sports teams, including Premier League and Championship clubs.
