“Two Lucky Britons Win £1 Million Each in Premium Bonds Draw”

In the latest announcement for January 2026, the Premium Bond results have revealed that two fortunate individuals have become millionaires at the start of the New Year.

The first £1 million winner resides in Suffolk and holds the maximum investment of £50,000 in Premium Bonds, with the winning bond number 570QM451332 purchased in February 2024.

The second £1 million winner hails from Berkshire and also has £50,000 invested in Premium Bonds, acquiring the winning bond number 377PG290829 in December 2019.

Premium Bonds, offered by National Savings & Investment (NS&I), differ from traditional savings accounts as they involve participating in a monthly prize draw instead of earning a fixed interest rate on savings.

The prize range for Premium Bonds varies from £25 to £1 million, with a higher number of smaller prizes distributed compared to the larger sums. Typically, numerous £25 prizes are awarded, with only two £1 million prizes available each month. Participants can invest up to £50,000 in Premium Bonds, with each pound invested corresponding to a unique bond number.

The odds of winning a prize each month with Premium Bonds are 22,000 to 1 per £1 bond. Winners are notified via email or text message by NS&I, where they can choose to receive the prize money directly into their bank account or reinvest it in Premium Bonds. An online prize checker tool is also available to verify if a prize has been won.

The current prize fund rate for Premium Bonds stands at 3.60%, remaining unchanged since the August 2025 draw. While the prize fund rate has slightly decreased recently, leading to a decrease in larger prizes being awarded and an increase in smaller prizes, there are still two £1 million prizes up for grabs each month.

Data released last month highlighted the luckiest regions for winning Premium Bond prizes, revealing that Hampshire and the Isle of Wight saw 42 individuals securing the second-largest prize of £100,000 in 2025. Essex, Outer London, Norwich, and Cumbria were also among the fortunate locations where significant prizes were won last year.

With over 24 million individuals currently holding Premium Bonds, the popularity of this savings product continues to grow.
