Tragedy struck Garden Hill Anisininew Nation in eastern Manitoba as two young siblings, aged one and two, drowned in a local lake, according to the RCMP. The incident was reported to authorities when the children were brought to the community’s nursing station on Wednesday afternoon by safety officers from the First Nation.
Upon arrival at the nursing station, the toddlers were pronounced dead. It is believed that the boys wandered away from their residence and ended up in the nearby lake, with no suspicion of foul play by investigators.
