“Tiger Woods Takes Golf Hiatus After Seventh Back Surgery”

Tiger Woods has acknowledged that he will be taking a break from golf following a recent back surgery he had in October. This procedure marked his seventh back surgery and the third major operation in the past two years, with previous surgeries focusing on his Achilles and ankle.

Despite winning the Masters in 2019, ending an 11-year Major drought, Woods has been struggling with injuries that have hindered his competitive edge in golf. Recently, he hosted the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas but understands that he has a long road to recovery ahead before returning to the golf course.

While initially making light-hearted remarks about playing numerous events, Woods emphasized the importance of focusing on his rehabilitation before determining his future tournament schedule. He mentioned that he had just been cleared to resume chipping and putting after a six-week recovery period following the disc replacement surgery.

Looking ahead, Woods is motivated to surpass the all-time PGA tournament wins record of 82 victories, currently shared with Sam Snead. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, highlighted the challenge of basic mobility on the course as a significant hurdle for Woods’ potential comeback.
