A homicide investigation has been initiated following the fatal stabbing of a teenager on a bustling main street.
The victim, identified as Rinneau Perrineau, aged 19, was attacked on Lavender Hill, a lively commercial thoroughfare near Clapham Junction station, at approximately 3:20 pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Despite receiving immediate treatment for his stab wounds at the scene in Battersea, Rinneau was swiftly transported to a hospital by the London Ambulance Service. Tragically, his condition deteriorated, leading to his passing on Friday, October 24.
Expressing deep sorrow, the family of the teenager described Rinneau, also known as Ren, as a cherished individual who was always surrounded by loved ones. They shared, “Ren was loved by many, he was always around his family. He will be dearly missed.” The Metropolitan Police confirmed that specialized officers are offering support to the grieving family.
Authorities have announced the commencement of a murder inquiry in response to the deadly stabbing, urging any potential witnesses to come forward and assist the police.
Acting Borough Commander Amanda Mawhinney, responsible for overseeing policing in the region, extended sympathies to the victim’s family during this distressing period.
