Tiger Woods, aged 50, has entered a not guilty plea following his arrest in Florida due to a rollover crash involving two vehicles. The renowned 15-time major champion is facing charges related to driving under the influence resulting in property damage and refusal to undergo a lawful test.
The incident occurred when Woods attempted to pass a tow truck on a narrow road, causing his dark SUV to overturn. Despite registering a 0.00 on a breathalyser test, he chose not to undergo a urinalysis. Subsequently, he was obligated to spend eight hours in Martin County Jail before being released and returning home.
Reports indicate that Woods’ legal representative, Douglas Duncan, disclosed his plea following an examination of court records by TMZ. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump shared positive remarks about Woods to the New York Post, affirming the golfer’s well-being amidst physical challenges.
Sheriff John Budensiek clarified that there was no suspicion of alcohol involvement in the crash, as Woods tested negative for alcohol content. However, Woods faced charges for DUI, property damage, and refusal to comply with a lawful test due to declining the urinalysis request.
The investigation unfolded after the Jupiter Island Police Department responded to a rollover crash involving a Land Rover. Woods, identified as the driver, exhibited signs of impairment, leading to his arrest and subsequent transportation to Martin County Jail. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the crash.
