Lily Allen Opens Up About Husband’s Infidelity

Lily Allen has suggested that she was left in the dark when she found out about her former husband David Harbour’s unfaithfulness. The 40-year-old singer, known for “Alfie,” and the 50-year-old Stranger Things actor began their relationship in 2019 and got married in a Las Vegas ceremony in 2020.

After being together for four years, they quietly parted ways towards the end of 2024, with their split officially confirmed earlier this year. Lily, who is preparing to release a new album, has openly discussed the impact of the breakup on herself and her children.

Following the end of their four-year marriage last December, Lily revealed that she struggled with suicidal thoughts upon discovering David’s secret profile on the celebrity dating app Raya. In a recent interview ahead of the release of her album “West End Girl” this month, Lily mentioned that she had to piece together the events of their relationship on her own.

She expressed, “There are experiences from my personal life that are reflected in this album,” highlighting the challenges of dating in her 40s. Lily shared her feelings of disappointment, humiliation, and shame, emphasizing the societal stigma around women her age.

Describing her life as “really confusing,” Lily mentioned feeling lost without clear answers about the situation. She also disclosed creating a profile on Raya to investigate after David reportedly joined the app, leading to further distress.

Reports suggest that Lily has enrolled in a £8,000-a-week trauma treatment center post the breakup. Despite her struggles, she admitted to British Vogue that she nearly relapsed into substance abuse and developed severe eating disorders during the tough times.

The singer, who has been sober for six years, described the overwhelming despair she faced and the challenge of coping without resorting to unhealthy coping mechanisms like drugs and alcohol.
