Just Eat Takeaway.com, the on-demand delivery company, has revealed its decision to cease operations of Menulog in Australia due to challenging circumstances. Menulog, an online food and beverage ordering app and delivery service in Australia, will no longer accept orders starting from November 26. The company, which acquired Menulog in 2015, has stated that this move is part of its strategy to focus on growth and investments in other markets to enhance customer, partner, and courier experiences.
Around 120 employees will be affected by this decision, with the company assuring that they will receive comprehensive support through generous redundancy packages exceeding legal obligations and outplacement assistance. Just Eat Takeaway.com operates in various countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
Menulog, known for its past advertisements featuring celebrities like Christina Aguilera and Snoop Dogg, will maintain its platform until November 26, 23:59 AEDT. Morten Belling, Managing Director of Menulog, expressed the challenging nature of the decision and emphasized the company’s commitment to assisting customers, couriers, and partners during the transition period. Customers will have two weeks to redeem unused vouchers and credits, while eligible couriers will receive a four-week voluntary payment. Belling also extended gratitude to all who have supported Menulog throughout the years.
