“Jessica Ennis-Hill Joins Kevin Sinfield for MND Fundraiser”

Olympic gold medalist Jessica Ennis-Hill is set to join forces with Kevin Sinfield in Sheffield for his latest fundraising initiative in support of Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Ennis-Hill, a Sheffield resident, will run alongside Sinfield on Thursday as part of his ‘7 in 7 Together’ challenge, which involves running an ultra marathon daily for a week.

Sinfield, who commenced his challenge on Monday, has a track record of organizing charitable events, having already raised over £10 million for MND charities. His efforts have notably contributed to the establishment of a pioneering center in Leeds, the first of its kind in the United Kingdom.

The inspiration behind Sinfield’s philanthropic endeavors stems from his close friend and former teammate, Rob Burrow, who was diagnosed with MND. Ennis-Hill, a renowned athlete with Olympic and world championship titles under her belt, has stepped up to support Sinfield’s cause, bringing significant attention to MND awareness.

Following her retirement from athletics in 2016, Ennis-Hill has been actively involved in media work and serves as a patron for various charitable organizations, including the Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Barrie Wells’ sports foundation. Sinfield, driven by the quest to find a cure for MND, remains dedicated to his cause, especially in light of recent news about MND affecting public figures like Lewis Moody.

Moreover, Moody is planning fundraising initiatives like a charity dinner in April and a charity bike ride in 2026. Sinfield’s challenge will progress from Sheffield to Cumbria, Scotland, and culminate in Leeds on Sunday as he continues his mission to combat MND.
