“Greek Island Assaults: Tourists Report Disturbing Incidents”

A female British tourist has reported being sexually assaulted by a hotel employee in Greece. The incident occurred on the island of Kos, where the 45-year-old woman alleged that a 42-year-old male, identified as a Nigerian national, attacked her in her hotel room around 7pm on Monday. The woman, who admitted to consuming alcohol, claimed that the employee took advantage of her intoxicated state.

Authorities on the popular resort island launched a search for the suspect and subsequently apprehended him. He is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear before the prosecutor at the Kos District Court.

This case follows a series of similar allegations made by tourists visiting Greece earlier this year. In one instance on the island of Rhodes, a tourist accused her masseuse of assaulting her during a massage, leading her to file a lawsuit related to the incident.

Additionally, a British teenager reported being raped in the sea in front of a crowded beach on Rhodes. The 16-year-old girl, vacationing with her family, reported the incident to the police, resulting in the arrest of a 15-year-old boy from Belgium. The suspect claimed that the interaction was consensual, although both were staying at the same resort. Legal proceedings are ongoing, with the case referred to an investigating officer by the Public Prosecutor on the island.
