Former Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson and her partner, professional dancer Gorka Marquez, who have been engaged for four years, have progressed significantly as a couple since meeting on the set of Strictly Come Dancing in 2017. They are now parents to Mia, aged six, and Thiago, aged two, and have launched a new podcast called Lost in Translation.
In a recent interview with OK! magazine, the couple shared insights into their podcast and personal lives, including discussing their pet peeves about each other. Gemma mentioned that they discuss what annoys them about one another with their producer weekly, along with playing games and exploring cultural differences between Spain and England.
The couple shared that one of the main cultural differences between them revolves around food. Gemma revealed that Gorka is not a fan of her childhood favorites like cheese pie or chippy tea with gravy, while Gorka’s love for Spanish cured meat is not appreciated by Gemma.
Despite their differences, Gemma and Gorka highlighted that their contrasting traits complement each other in their relationship. Gorka described himself as a perfectionist, contrasting Gemma’s more laid-back approach, joking about their differences in folding socks.
While Gorka has taken on a role as a judge on the Spanish version of Strictly, their family tradition of watching the show together remains a special part of their routine. The couple also shared that their children, Mia and Thiago, show early signs of musical talent and interest in dancing, hinting at potential future careers in the performing arts.
Their podcast, Lost In Translation, is available on various platforms including the Rayo app, Apple, Amazon Music, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. Readers can follow Mirror Celebs on different social media channels for more updates and entertainment news.
