150 corgis gathered in Vilnius for an international event celebrating these small herding dogs from Wales. The fifth Corgi Race Vilnius featured various activities such as a costume parade, a “smartest nose” challenge, and a loudest bark competition. Participants from nine countries, including the United States, Germany, and the UK, showcased their corgis’ skills in different events.
The organizer, Edvinas Miskas, noted the significant growth of the event from its inception, with 150 corgis participating this year from various countries. The final race saw American corgi GG, also known as Gustave the Girl Dog, emerge as the winner over a 25-meter sprint, with Mr. Corgington from the U.S. finishing in a close second and Lithuania’s Moka taking third place.
Apart from the racing competition, the event featured a costume parade with corgis flaunting creative outfits, a “smartest nose” challenge where dogs hunted for hidden treats, and a loudest bark contest. Mr. Corgington claimed victory in the loudest bark category, showcasing his skills alongside other talented corgis.
The event highlighted the diversity and talents of corgis, with various activities engaging both the dogs and their owners. The competition brought together corgi enthusiasts from around the world, solidifying Vilnius as a hub for corgi appreciation.
