McIntosh admitted making a misjudgment and vowed to learn from the experience. In the men’s events, Canadians Blake Tierney and Ethan Ekk secured silver and bronze, respectively, in the men’s 200m backstroke. Tierney won his first international gold medal in the 100m backstroke earlier in the competition, emphasizing the payoff of his dedicated training. The Canadian men’s 4x100m freestyle team narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth. The U.S. claimed gold in both the men’s and women’s 4x100m freestyle relays, with the Canadian women’s team securing bronze.
