A mother faced a grim prognosis of lifelong incapacitation after experiencing near-fatal injuries in a car crash, surviving only thanks to an obscure iPhone feature. Clarice Cameron, a 24-year-old former caregiver, was on her way to a friend’s place on the night of May 20 in the vicinity of Canterbury, Kent when she was forced off the road by an oncoming driver.
As she tried to evade the reckless driver, Clarice veered off the road, colliding with a tree and sustaining severe injuries. Her iPhone, sensing the impact, automatically alerted emergency services, who discovered her unconscious in the wrecked vehicle.
