Bernie Ecclestone recently sold a yacht named after his daughters, Petra and Tamara, following his wife Fabiana’s revelation that they only used it for about eight days annually. Another smaller yacht belonging to the Formula 1 tycoon, docked in Ibiza, is also currently on the market, contrasting with the “Petara” yacht located in Croatia.
During an interview marking his 95th birthday, Ecclestone stated, “We just sold it,” as confirmed by Fabiana, who mentioned that the yacht was rarely utilized. Ecclestone had also previously sold his collection of F1 cars to Red Bull co-owner Mark Mateschitz for approximately £550 million earlier this year. This sale came after a civil settlement with HMRC, where he paid over £500 million due to undeclared overseas assets worth £400 million.
Despite these transactions, Ecclestone and his family still retain a substantial net worth, exceeding £1.8 billion according to Forbes. Currently residing in the Swiss Alps town of Gstaad with his wife Fabiana and their five-year-old son, Ace, Ecclestone expressed his birthday plans, opting for a quieter celebration at his ranch in Brazil.
Reflecting on family dynamics, Ecclestone mentioned his eldest daughter, Deborah, visiting him in Gstaad before her 70th birthday. Fabiana highlighted the strong bond within the family, emphasizing their teamwork in raising Ace. She noted their structured approach to parenting, limiting Ace’s screen time and technology use to specific days of the week, in contrast to his peers.
Ecclestone praised Ace’s adaptability and intelligence, foreseeing a bright future for him, emphasizing his son’s diverse interests and skills. Fabiana shared anecdotes about Ace’s early activities, including skiing at the age of two and his love for various foods, with sushi being a favorite.
In a separate development, Sky has announced discounted rates for its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, offering substantial savings and a broad range of live sports content, including over 1,400 matches across the Premier League, EFL, and more. Additionally, Sky will broadcast a minimum of 215 live Premier League games in the upcoming season, a significant increase from previous years.
