Terrifying video footage captured the moment a runaway tipper lorry collided with a garbage truck and cars at a set of traffic lights in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. The incident occurred on the morning of October 21st when the lorry lost control while descending a hill, according to authorities. A dashcam recording revealed the traffic light switching to green as the vehicles started moving, only to be struck by the speeding tipper lorry moments later.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene after being alerted at 9:07 am, arriving within nine minutes. Assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar reported that the crash involved a tipper lorry, a garbage truck, and two Perodua Myvi cars. Initial assessments identified three injured male foreign nationals and a 34-year-old woman, all of whom were rescued from their vehicles before the arrival of firefighters.
Following the incident, it was confirmed by the police that a total of six individuals sustained injuries, including the 35-year-old local driver of the tipper lorry. One victim suffered a broken leg, as reported by Klang Utara deputy police chief Acting Superintendent Mohd Rahimi Zainol. The authorities detained the lorry driver for questioning and launched an investigation into the collision.
In a separate incident earlier in the year, a lorry veered across a motorway central reservation, narrowly avoiding a collision with oncoming traffic. Peter Stone, 55, narrowly evaded a potential crash while driving his Porsche 911 between junctions 28 and 29 in Devon. Reacting swiftly, he managed to steer clear of the oncoming lorry speeding down the motorway in the wrong direction.
Recalling the heart-stopping moment, Peter described the lorry’s sudden appearance and his split-second decision to avoid a catastrophic outcome. He commended his reflexes for maneuvering through the traffic safely and expressed relief that no injuries were reported following the harrowing incident.
