Nathan, the husband of a cherished mother who tragically passed away, has detailed his plans to commemorate her on the first anniversary of her death.
Emily Moss, known as an exceptional mother and a generous individual from Burnage, Greater Manchester, passed away in November 2024 due to sudden heart failure after dropping off their four-year-old daughter at a dance class.
In remembrance of his wife, Nathan, aged 34, intends to climb Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa at 13,671 feet, to raise funds for Trafford Domestic Abuse Services (TDAS), a charity where Emily once worked.
Discussing Emily’s heart condition, peripartum cardiomyopathy, Nathan revealed, “When she gave birth to Isobel, we discovered she had this heart condition. It was a challenging time for us as we transitioned from a couple to parents and then learned about Emily’s heart condition. Despite being managed through medication, her sudden passing was unexpected.”
Nathan recounted the moment he learned of Emily’s death, recalling the heart-wrenching experience at the hospital in Greater Manchester. He reflected on the emotional funeral that drew a large turnout of around 300 mourners, emphasizing the impact Emily had on many lives.
Married in 2018 after meeting in high school, Nathan and Emily had aspirations for a second child before her untimely death. Nathan is now honoring Emily’s legacy by fundraising for a domestic abuse charity, emphasizing her selfless and kind-hearted nature.
Describing Emily as a devoted mother, Nathan highlighted her remarkable parenting skills and the challenges he faces in fulfilling tasks she once handled effortlessly. Despite the struggles, Nathan is determined to keep Emily’s spirit alive by supporting the charity and engaging in activities that embody her values.
Scheduled to climb Mount Toubkal in Morocco with his friend Will Sargison, Nathan’s GoFundMe campaign has garnered significant support, with donations exceeding £2,000 to aid victims of domestic violence through TDAS.
As he navigates the emotional period around the anniversaries of significant dates, Nathan aims to honor Emily’s memory by helping others and creating lasting memories for their daughter. The family is planning a special trip to Disneyland to celebrate Emily’s life and legacy.
