“Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson seek new royal residences”

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are reportedly seeking two new residences as they negotiate their departure from the Royal Lodge. The discussions come in light of the controversy surrounding the nominal rent Andrew pays for his 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Andrew, 65, is in talks with officials from the monarchy but is hesitant to leave his long-standing residence, citing concerns about the location of his new home and seeking compensation for the renovations he has made to the lodge.

As part of their discussions with the Palace, Andrew has expressed interest in acquiring Frogmore Cottage, the former residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson is eyeing Adelaide Cottage, where she plans to move once Prince William and Kate vacate the premises.

Sources close to the couple have mentioned that both properties offer ample space for their daughters, Eugenie and Beatrice, and their families to visit regularly.

The Mirror has reached out to Buckingham Palace and Prince Andrew’s representatives for comments on the matter.

Prince William is allegedly urging Andrew to vacate Royal Lodge by Bonfire Night to make room for his own impending move. It is reported that William is insistent on having Andrew out before he and Princess Kate settle into their new residence at Forest Lodge.

Amidst these developments, parliamentarians are poised to debate Prince Andrew’s conduct, his mansion, and the potential repercussions on his royal title. The issue may soon be raised in Parliament on days when the government does not control the schedule.

While Andrew voluntarily relinquished the use of his Duke of York title, a parliamentary law is required to formally strip him of the title.

The Liberal Democrats have hinted at using one of their opposition days to allow MPs to discuss Andrew’s behavior further.
