“Sean Bean’s Sheffield United Tattoo Lands Him Breakout Hollywood Role”

Renowned actor Sean Bean shared that his breakthrough in Hollywood came thanks to a tattoo paying homage to his favorite football team, Sheffield United. The BAFTA award-winning star, aged 66, revealed that the tattoo caught the attention of director Philip Noyce, who cast him as the antagonist alongside Harrison Ford in Patriot Games.

Recalling the moment, Sean explained that the tattoo, bearing the inscription “100% Blade,” gave him a tough appearance, leading to his casting in the film. Reflecting on the tattoo’s current state, Sean humorously remarked that it now looks far from its former glory, likening it to a messy bird dropping.

Having established himself as a successful actor both in the UK and internationally, featuring in prominent productions like Game Of Thrones and The Lord Of The Rings, Sean admitted that his casting in Patriot Games was a pivotal moment in his career. Despite struggling with auditions and memorizing lines, he impressed the casting team with his performance in the film.

Recently, Sean Bean made a rare public appearance with his fifth wife, Ashley Moore, at the premiere of his upcoming TV series, Robin Hood, where he portrays the Sheriff of Nottingham. The series is set to debut on November 2 on MGM+, with UK viewers able to access it through an Amazon Prime add-on subscription.

During the Hollywood event, Sean looked elegant in a camel suit, while Ashley exuded sophistication in a black trouser suit. The couple, married since 2017, appeared affectionate as they mingled with Sean’s co-stars at the event.

This marks Sean’s fifth marriage, and it is his longest-lasting one to date. The couple’s union began unexpectedly in a London pub, with Sean having sworn off marriage after four previous divorces and having three children. Despite his initial reservations, Sean and Ashley’s relationship has endured for eight years.
