A popular TikTok content creator with a massive following of over 800,000 has tragically lost his life just three days after celebrating his wedding anniversary. Michael Duarte, also known as FoodwithBearHands, was a talented chef whose social media profile highlighted his passion for cooking, grilling, and BBQ.
The devastating incident occurred when Duarte, a father and husband survived by his wife Jessica Duarte and 6-year-old daughter Oakley, was fatally shot by law enforcement officers in response to his erratic behavior wielding a knife. He succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital.
Known for his engaging cooking videos showcasing BBQs and grills, Duarte’s untimely demise led to the creation of a GoFundMe campaign organized by Nena Petricca from El Cajon, California, which has raised a significant sum exceeding £65,000.
In a heartfelt message on the fundraising page, it was shared that Duarte tragically passed away during a visit to Texas, just days after commemorating his 9th wedding anniversary. While the world may recognize him as “FoodwithBearHands,” to those close to him, he was a cherished husband, father, brother, and a dear friend to many.
According to reports from TMZ, the Sheriff’s Office stated that Duarte approached officers in a threatening manner, disregarding commands to stop, and charged towards a deputy while uttering threats.
As of now, funeral arrangements for Duarte remain uncertain, as confirmed by Nena, who also urged for prayers and support for the grieving family during this challenging time.
