Oasis recently honored their guitarist Bonehead with a heartfelt tribute as he had to withdraw from their upcoming world tour leg due to health reasons. The rock star, aged 60, who had been a part of the band’s prominent UK performances, revealed that he was facing a cancer diagnosis once again, following a previous battle with tonsil cancer in 2022.
In a social media update on October 3, Bonehead, also known as Paul Arthurs, disclosed his prostate cancer diagnosis but expressed optimism about his treatment progress. However, he regretted missing the tour stops in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney to focus on his health. He reassured fans of his return for the South America shows in November.
The band, showing solidarity with Bonehead, included a cardboard cutout of him during their current tour. Liam and Noel Gallagher emphasized their support for Bonehead’s treatment and anticipated his reunion with the band for the final tour dates in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.
Acknowledging Bonehead’s absence, the Gallagher brothers extended well wishes for his recovery and eventual return to the stage. Despite Bonehead’s temporary leave, the band remains supportive, with plans for a replacement guitarist, Mike Moore, a longtime associate of Liam Gallagher, to step in for the upcoming tour dates.
In addition to Moore, Liam’s band now features Christian Madden on keyboards, maintaining the core lineup with Noel Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Joey Waronker. The band’s decision to prioritize Bonehead’s health underscores their commitment to his well-being while continuing their musical journey.
