A woman, aged 42, was discovered in an alarming condition, on the brink of death, reportedly confined to her room for 27 years by her parents. Identified as Mirrella, she was last seen publicly in 1998 at the age of 15 in Świętochłowice, Poland. The community believed she had disappeared, but she resurfaced nearly three decades later, never having sought dental or hair care during that time.
The distressing revelation occurred in July when police responded to a disturbance report at an apartment block. The 82-year-old landlady denied any altercation, according to Deputy Inspector Anna Hryniak. Mirrella initially denied any issues when questioned by the police but was immediately provided medical attention due to her injuries. The community has since come together to support her recovery through a fundraising initiative.
A local source stated on social media that doctors determined she was close to death from infection. She has been hospitalized for two months due to her critical state. The investigation into why she secluded herself for so long is ongoing, with Prosecutor Agnieszka Kwatera confirming the launch of an inquiry.
The situation has raised questions about the circumstances leading to Mirrella’s isolation and lack of basic necessities like medical and dental care. The community is eager to uncover the truth behind her prolonged absence from society and the neglect she endured.
