“Erling Haaland Sends Heartfelt Message to Retiring Goalkeeper Scott Carson”

Erling Haaland expressed his heartfelt sentiments to Scott Carson following the goalkeeper’s retirement announcement. Carson, aged 40, ended his professional career after being released by Manchester City earlier this year when his contract expired, concluding a six-year tenure at the Etihad.

Despite only making two appearances for City, Carson was part of the team’s impressive record of winning 11 trophies, including a treble victory in 2023. Pep Guardiola, the City manager, held Carson in high esteem and ensured his presence on matchdays to provide valuable experience.

Carson, who began his professional journey with Leeds United in 2004, played for a total of 10 clubs over a 21-year career and earned four senior caps for the England national team.

Taking to social media on Thursday, Carson shared his retirement decision, expressing gratitude for the memories, friendships, and experiences football had bestowed upon him. Haaland and other former teammates, including Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish, extended their well wishes to Carson as he embarks on a new chapter in his life.

Guardiola and several ex-City players, like Ederson and Fernandinho, conveyed their affection for Carson with supportive messages. Guardiola may address Carson’s retirement during his media briefing ahead of City’s upcoming match against Aston Villa.

Carson, who has a 19-year-old son, Hayden, currently playing for Wolves, will now enjoy his retirement after a successful career in professional football.
