“Bulgaria Tops List for Affordable Family Summer Vacations”

Bulgaria has been highlighted as the top destination for an affordable summer vacation this year, particularly for families. TravelSupermarket’s data for 2026 peak booking season shows that Bulgaria offers the best value, with an average cost of £760 per person for a week-long, all-inclusive stay. Following closely are Morocco at £852 and Malta at £862 per person for seven nights.

The analysis, based on family holiday searches from October 5 last year to the current week, revealed significant price variations among popular holiday spots. Bulgaria stands out with a £54 decrease per person, marking a 7% drop compared to last summer. On the other end of the spectrum, Cyprus appears as the most expensive choice at £1,186 per person.

Spain, a perennial favorite among British tourists, holds the fourth spot on the list this year, priced at £888 per person, showing little change from 2025. Turkey ranks 11th at £1,057, while Greece follows closely in 12th place at £1,096. Croatia, priced at £1,046 per person, is the 10th most economical destination this summer, with a notable 12% decrease in costs compared to the previous year.

For long-haul trips, TravelSupermarket identified Cape Verde as the most cost-effective option at £1,247 per person, trailed by the United Arab Emirates at £1,297, the Dominican Republic at £1,664, and Mexico at £1,694 per person.

Chris Webber, head of holidays and deals at TravelSupermarket, expressed optimism about Bulgaria’s status as a budget-friendly all-inclusive hotspot and noted the continued affordability of Tunisia and Morocco. He highlighted Croatia’s price drop as particularly beneficial for families, making this picturesque destination more accessible after recent cost concerns.
