The Mirror recently disclosed that 451 postcode areas have qualified for Cold Weather Payments this year. Eligibility for these payments is based on receiving specific benefits or mortgage support.

If entitled, the payment is automatically deposited into your bank account within 14 working days. However, application is required if you have a baby or if a child under five moves in with you.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) administers Cold Weather Payments, with the program scheduled to continue until March 31, 2026.

In Scotland, Cold Weather Payments are replaced by the Winter Heating Payment worth £59.75.
