“Jealous Ex Vandalizes Car, Fined £120”

A woman, Holly Jennings, was brought to court for vandalizing her ex-boyfriend’s car out of jealousy. She caused around £3,000 in damages to the vehicle, which was parked outside his residence in Crewe, Cheshire. Jennings smashed the windscreen and scratched the word “dog” onto the bonnet.

When the ex-boyfriend was informed of the damage by a neighbor while he was away, Jennings expressed regret for her actions. She admitted to the criminal damage charge and was fined £120, along with being ordered to pay £133 in costs and a surcharge. Jennings left the court with a smile after the hearing.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Jennings and the car owner share a child from their past relationship. The vandalism occurred after the relationship ended, and the car owner started a new relationship. Despite the ex-partner not supporting the prosecution, Jennings was still held accountable for the revenge attack on the vehicle.

Representing herself in court, Jennings mentioned that she was responsible for looking after their child and was on Universal Credit. When asked about her actions, she admitted they were wrong and expressed remorse. The judge emphasized the need for moving on from the bitterness and urged Jennings to focus on co-parenting for the child’s benefit.

The judge acknowledged the impulsive nature of the offense, Jennings’ lack of prior convictions, her remorse, and the unlikelihood of reoffending. Consequently, he imposed a fine on Jennings, emphasizing the need to put an end to such behavior and move forward positively.
