“Anthony Joshua’s Boxing Return a Mystery, Possible Last-Minute Decision”

Anthony Joshua is keeping his return to the boxing ring a mystery, with the decision possibly coming just 48 hours before the fight. He has been out of action since suffering a knockout defeat by Daniel Dubois last year and is eyeing a warm-up bout before a potential showdown with Tyson Fury. There is speculation that Joshua might feature on an upcoming undercard event before Christmas, with little advance notice.

Promoter Eddie Hearn mentioned, “We will finalize his next fight this week. If a fight is scheduled for this year, the announcement may come late, possibly during fight week. We have been in talks with potential opponents for a tune-up fight, aiming for a relaxed approach where Joshua would weigh in and compete without much fanfare.”

Hearn added that the only exception to this low-key approach would be if Joshua were to face YouTuber Jake Paul. While Paul is seeking a replacement opponent for a December bout, Hearn clarified that Joshua is not in contention for that matchup. He stated, “We have had discussions but no formal offer. While a fight against Jake Paul could be intriguing, Joshua might not be interested in that scenario.”

In other boxing news, the highly anticipated rematch between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Fans can catch the action on DAZN PPV for £24.99 or access it for free with a DAZN Ultimate subscription.

Joshua is currently exploring options for a new coaching team after parting ways with trainer Ben Davison. The heavyweight champion recently visited Oleksandr Usyk’s training camp in Spain as he prepares for the next phase of his career. Joshua has previously worked with notable trainers such as Tony Sims, Rob McCracken, Robert Garcia, and Derrick James before transitioning to Fury’s former stable.
